How many treatments are needed?
On average, between 6 and 10 treatments are required to achieve the desired result. But this number is only an indication and not a standard from which you can derive rights. There is no standard number of treatments, because every person, every skin and every hair growth is different.
How much time is there between the treatments?
Not all unwanted hair can be removed in one go. The hairs must be in the growth cycle to be permanently removed. Because not all hairs are in the growth phase at the same time, several treatments are needed to permanently reduce unwanted hair growth.
The time between treatments is:
for the face 4 to 6 weeks
for the body 6 to 8 weeks
How does the treatment with the Soprano ICE Platinum work?
- First, one of our specialists checks the area that you wish to be treated. She looks for skin damage, pigmentation and / or long hair.
- Next, sections of approximately 10 cm by 10 cm are marked out for the lasering to take place in. A specially developed gel is applied to this area. The gel has a cooling effect and provides better conductivity.
- Each section is lasered for a short time using the In-motion technique until the skin temperature in the section is gradually built up to around 45 degrees Celsius.
- After treatment, the gel is removed and the skin is rubbed with a soothing and cooling aloe vera gel.
Does the laser treatment hurt?
Thanks to the advanced In-motion laser technique, it is possible to get rid of unwanted hair growth almost painlessly. Of course, every person is unique, as is the experience of pain, so this will vary per person and treatment area.
Is the laser treatment suitable for all skin types?
We work with the most advanced laser technology, suitable for all skin types. It doesn’t matter if you have light skin or dark-tinted skin. This is because the Soprano laser technique is highly effective in targeting the proteins in the hair follicle and not just the pigment.
The Soprano Laser is suitable for all conceivable skin types. It is true that the treatment for dark skin types entails a little more risk because of the amount of pigment in the skin. A possible skin reaction, in whatever form, is therefore not completely excluded.
Is the laser treatment suitable for all hair types?
With the Soprano Laser we can treat every hair type and hair colour. It doesn’t matter if you have very light / grey hair or dark / black hair. Experience does show that with light / grey hair it is more difficult to conduct heat to the hair follicle. This can mean that the hair reduction is slower and that the results achieved may be less. We will assess during the consultation whether a good result can be achieved for you.
How long does the treatment take?
The duration of treatment depends on the area to be treated.
From what age can treatment be given?
The laser treatments are suitable for all ages. Keep in mind that for young people, hair growth has only just begun, a young person is still growing, and that’s the same for hair growth. You’re ready for an effective treatment once your body no longer develops additional hair growth.
Can I laser on sun-tanned skin?
Yes, tanned skin can also be treated with the Soprano ICE Platinum laser. This is because the laser effectively targets the proteins in the hair follicle and not just the pigment. So you can have the laser treatment at any time of the year.
Please note: we advise you not to sunbathe or use a tanning bed or self-tanning product one week before and one week after the treatment. This is to let the skin rest.
Can I have a laser treatment if I am pregnant?
No, we don’t recommend treatments during pregnancy. This is because pregnancy hormones can influence the result of the treatment.
Is laser treatment safe?
Yes! And we say this wholeheartedly. A treatment with the Soprano ICE Platinum laser is completely safe. Unlike other devices, the Soprano laser works with an In-motion technique that ensures that the skin is safely and gently heated to a temperature where the protein around the hair follicle is destroyed causing the hair to die. The accuracy of the laser makes it impossible for sweat or lymph nodes in the skin to be damaged. Thanks to this characteristic and unique treatment technique, our treatments are extremely safe, so the risk of burns, pigmentation and infections is very small.
When is laser treatment not allowed?
Laser treatment is not recommended if you:
- are pregnant
- are breastfeeding
- suffer from epilepsy
- have a fever or an infection
- are taking medication that can make your skin light-sensitive
- taking anti-inflammatory drugs
- have a pacemaker
- have piercings, tattoos or an implant in the area to be treated
Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about your specific situation. You can call us on 050-318 21 33 or email info@citylasercompany.nl. Or just walk in.
Do I get guarantee on the result?
No, for the simple reason that each person is unique. The laser works differently on everyone. It is therefore impossible to guarantee the number of treatments you will need or the final result.
In most cases, hair growth will eventually decrease by 75% – 95%. This is only an indication from previous experiences. No rights can be derived from this indication. In fact, the laser treatment may even have little or no effect on your hair growth. In that case, there is a chance that you are a non-responder. Unfortunately, we cannot estimate such cases in advance.
Are laser treatments covered by my health insurance?
We are affiliated with ANBOS, the National Association of Skin Therapists (NvH) and the Paramedics quality register. Therefore, in certain cases, treatments may be covered by the healthcare insurer under the supplementary insurance. Please consult the terms and conditions of your insurance.
